Historic Cape May Tennis Club Fall 2007 Newsletter As another year comes to a close, we reflect on the past years activities of our Club. The Club sponsored a wonderful cruise in January to the Eastern Caribbean. One to the Southern Caribbean is being offered in 2008. Another successful Boys High School Tournament was held in April, sponsored by Trudy & Don Trappler of Ambassador Cruises as well as La Monica Fine Foods. Our annual Spring Social as well as our annual William J. Moore Summer Social was enjoyed by our many members as well as their guests. Many members participated in the tennis tournaments held throughout the year. Club tournaments in 2008 will be run by our three approved instructors who are Lionel Desrosiers, Matt Gilbert and Joe Halasz. At our August Annual Meeting the following members were elected to the Executive Committee. Don Trappler, President, Guenther Woehlert, Vice- President, Perry Collier, Secretary and Kelli Schiffbauer, Treasurer. Cy Cummings was also appointed as a Member at Large. In September, the Girls High School Tennis Tournament was held. It was sponsored by Crest Savings Bank, who graciously offered to become its permanent annual sponsor. Accordingly we have designated Crest as the Official Bank of the Club. They have offered a $50.00 discount off our $220.00 annual membership. Please consider their enclosed member offer. The Second Annual Wood & White Tournament sponsored by Cy Cummings of Inkwell Printing was also a huge success. We are pleased to report that because of the efforts of our staff, many volunteers and the financial help of our sponsors, 2008 dues will remain the same as last year. See reverse side for 2008 membership application. Also special thanks to our outgoing President, Bill George & outgoing Vice-President, Bob Zevola for the fine job they both did the last four years. Please fill out the 2008 membership application on the back and return it with your check in the enclosed, self-addressed envelope as soon as possible.
